Yes there’s even a lil picture of me holding the painting so you can get a feel of the size! It looks like an offset linocut print, so I decided to call it Mauve Relief, cause relief is another word for this sort of printing technique.
This mixed media piece combines many of my ongoing artistic explorations: the influence of Japanese tapestries and chinoiserie, Australian nature and silhouettes, the simplification of shapes and forms and a muted palette of pinks and teals that you see me using a lot these days.
I used a lot of different mediums to get this result, including watercolour, acrylic inks and gouache in the lower right corner to get the printmaking feel of this piece. The edges are hand torn as in the pictures (except mine holding it.)
It comes flat on a rigid envelope.
